50th Birthday in New Orlean’s Louisiana
For my 50th birthday, I brought my closest friends and family to the magical city of New Orleans — a place where music, history, and celebration are woven into every street corner. The festivities spanned several days and two of the city's most iconic locations. The journey began with two streetcars, secured especially for the occasion, carrying guests from their hotels in the French Quarter out to the famous Garden District, where they were greeted by a classic New Orleans band. There, we gathered at the former German Embassy for an evening steeped in Southern grandeur.
The main event took place at the historic Beauregard-Keyes House in the heart of the French Quarter, with the legendary Paul Prudhomme as our caterer — a culinary experience worthy of the milestone. Guests also enjoyed a day trip aboard the famous Natchez riverboat, cruising the Mississippi and soaking in the views that have inspired generations. For a small group of family and very close friends, a special dinner was hosted in the private room of one of New Orleans' most famous Mardi Gras Krewes, tucked away inside the back of their restaurant — their secret meeting place and one of the city's best-kept treasures. It was a celebration that captured the spirit of New Orleans itself: bold, joyful, and unforgettable. The theme was "Fire," igniting the passion and energy that had fueled the first half century.
